Upcoming Events

3 December 2009: December Holiday Party
See you at our Holiday Party at the beautiful I Portici Hotel, from 19.30 onwards. Wear something pink in honour of our chosen charity LILT Bologna and enjoy a special performance from the Sarah Sheppard Choir. A hearty buffet and drinks are included in the entrance fee of €10 per person – IWF members are kindly asked to bring a maximum of 2 guests each. Don’t forget to sign up on the Forum.

  • We have received great feedback regarding our November General Meeting last week – many thanks again to our speaker, IWF member Andrea Shemberg. During her seminar, Andrea recommended some website links for further reading – check out the Forum for details.


  • Would you be interested in donating your translation skills to LILT Bologna, the IWF’s 2009 selected local charity organisation? LILT is looking for native speakers of most European, Asian and Arabic languages to help translate a short promotional text in Italian. Contact web@iwfbologna.com if you would be available to help.

    2. Book Club The next book on the list is “My Life In France” by Julia Child, to discuss on December 1st. Contact Julia Culver to take part in the upcoming meeting.
    3. Community Service Volunteers A kids holiday party is being organised for December 12 to raise money for Famiglia Aperta - numerous activities are planned! Material and monetary donations are requested. Contact group leader Kirstin Welter for info about how you can take part.
    4. Diners Club Let Group Leader Arlene Rochlin know which restaurants you’d like to try next!
    5. Runners & Walkers This Sunday, Nov 29th, we will be starting from Bologna’s Mercato Ortifrutticolo at 9am.
